December News

Happy December everyone! I wish each one of you a good health and happiness throughout the New Year!

It is a busy time of year for everybody. It has been no different for me, and due to some added personal issues I have not been able to stock my shop with enough items. Not to mention the plans I made for making a “Star of David” and some other themed crafts for this time of year.

So, rather than beat myself up about it (as some things are out of our control). I have already started working on items for upcoming calendar events, such as, Valentine’s Day, St. Patrick’s Day and even Easter. If you have any other suggestions feel free to send me a note. Message Craftego on Etsy Plus, I've added a few new items.

For some good news I exceeded 2000 visits to my shop last month and am still getting many admirers on the items I do have listed. I believe as I build my inventory, my number of sales will also grow. Here’s a link to the positive feedback I received, as of today. Craftego's Feedback on Etsy It doesn’t take much to make you feel good about yourself, so the feedback also serves as a real motivational boost. Thank you to all my supporters. You Rock!

Turkey Time to Gobble Treasury

Click here for an awesome treasury of Turkeys:  Turkey Time to Gobble! (link to my Etsy treasury)

Santa Barrette became a Santa Brooch :-)

The Santa barrette I mentioned below is complete, except it is a pin/brooch instead of a barrette. I still may make one but it'll have to be wider than this guy. (See picture) I sure love the way his beard turned out. :-)

I made a goal in October to reach at least 1000 visits to the shop And thanks to all of you, I did it!

Now I am going make you aware of new and upcoming items and deals. First, you will notice on Craftego’s front page the adorable Santa Claus earrings and necklaces you can now purchase. Please note you can choose your eye color in the variations tab. I hope you love them as much as I do. I am currently working on a Santa Clause barrette which is much more intricate; I am already feeling very proud of it. I am also working on more items that are made of fall colors. I feel confident I will be able to teach myself to make the Star of David for Hanukkah, and maybe pilgrim hats or something like that for Thanksgiving. Only time will tell.

Plus, if you’re looking for something specific it never hurts to try to describe it, or draw it, and I’ll do my best to make it. I’ll let you know when it is done, and if you like it you can buy it, and if you don’t I will simply keep it up for sale. If I don’t think I can even come close to your description, I will tell you right away.

I welcome any suggestions or ideas you may have to share. You can contact me through, you can leave a comment on this blog, or you can use any of the following avenues.

So let’s get right down to the business that I think is most important to you. How can you save money and get the most bang for your buck at Craftego?

Here are the simple answers; until the end of 2012, Craftego is offering free shipping with every item. You will be given the opportunity during your checkout process to enter your code: FREESHIPPING2012. The option doesn’t appear until about the third step so look for the box to enter your code on the top right. Plus you can get free gift wrapping too. When you place your order simply send me a note to request that your item be gift wrapped. All gifts will be wrapped in an elegant blue and white combination, suitable for any occasion. And don’t worry, if you forget, I will make a point of sending you a note asking if you would like free gift wrapping before I complete your order.

Happy shopping!

Allow me to introduce “Craftego” to you. This blog will serve as a newsletter for my online craft shop.  I opened it in March of this year, 2012.  My inspiration came from the compliments and requests for the beaded jewelry I make. So that is what I have in my shop at this moment, 49 gorgeous items, ranging from 1$-70$.
I have American Flags available for sale in the “made to order” section. Most items in this section will be theme related. The other items are unique in that I design things as I make them. I believe any art should be shared and it is entirely possible for somebody to make something similar to what I have made. To me, art is like cooking, as cooking is an art. I create all my art the same. I first visualize it, and then create as I go, sometimes adding a spice that wasn’t in the original plan. However, I haven’t learned how to write down my recipes. The closest I get to planning is sometimes I use graph paper to get an idea of how it will look and to serve as a counting guide.
Besides jewelry, my plan is to sell items made from clay, wood, and paper mache.  I also hope to be able to commit to, gather enough supplies and income, to justify getting a booth somewhere. My goal is to accomplish each of those things within the next year. For example, one of my Etsy teams, the SoCal Etsy Guild, works together to set up once a month in Los Angeles. I included the event details below because it is a great place to buy unique, handmade or vintage items from hard working business owners, like myself. With the support of my two awesome men, my son and my husband, Craftego is going to become a part of this event.  I would like to find a group in the bay area doing this too, preferably in the east bay.
If you know of an event in your area (where ever that may be), send me the information as I will do my best to include the information in my shop links section.
Anyway, this is probably going to be one of the longest newsletters I will write. I know you are busy and I will do my best to keep Craftego’s newsletters, short, sweet, fun, and informative. Give it a chance. You can follow by email if you don’t have a google account. It’s easy. Your email is not shared, for that matter, I never even see it. Google automates it to protect us both.  And if you decide it’s not for you, simply unsubscribe at any time. Thanks for your time.
